SpiceJet suspends operations from Indore for two months

According to a report by Pallavi Nair for The Times of India, SpiceJet Ltd. has suspended operations from Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport, Indore for the next two months, starting from February 1. According to the Indore Airport Director, Manoj Chansoria, "I received a call from the airlines that its operations are being suspended from Sunday for two months owing to some operational reasons." However, he said that there was no information about the airlines winding up its services from Indore.

SpiceJet has been operating from Indore since 2011 for Delhi and Hyderabad. The airline had morning and evening flights for Delhi, but since November 26, 2014, the morning flight has been withdrawn.

However, airport sources said that the main reason for the airline to suspend its operation is because of low passenger traffic. "The airline was able to get only 60-70 per cent occupancy as against their target of 80-95 per cent occupancy," added the source.
