Karipur runway re-carpeting works to be rescheduled

Kozhikode: The Union Civil Aviation Ministry will reschedule the runway re-carpeting works at the Karipur Airport, which was scheduled to commence from June 1 onwards, Kozhikode MP M K Raghavan said in a press release issued here on Wednesday.

The MP said that the Union civil aviation minister, Ashok Gajapathi Raju, gave the assurance when Raghavan, along with the state minister in-charge of airports, K Babu, met him in New Delhi.

Raghavan said they apprised the Union minister that the partial closure of airport for the runway works during the upcoming peak season-comprising Onam- Eid festivals along with school holidays in the Gulf and the Haj season-would put lakhs of expatriates in Malabar to inconvenience.
