The ongoing exercise to reintroduce commercial flights to Mysuru after SpiceJet suspended operations a few months ago is yet to bear fruit. C. Manjunath, director of Mysuru airport said at least one chartered flight a day was being handled by authorities.
Kingfisher and later Spicejet operated flights to the city but withdrew citing operational reasons and lack of patronisation, although occupancy rates were in excess of 60 per cent on most days.
“We are in touch with Air Costa which has evinced interest and the management has promised to send their operational and financial team to assess prospects,” said Mr. Manjunath, but they are yet to give a date.
