The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has issued requests for proposals for a duty-free concession and general retail master concessionaire at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International airport (NSCBI) in Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), West Bengal—after a two-year delay.
The airport operator, which is charged with the development, operation and maintenance of airports in India, is seeking a duty-free retailer to design, build, finance, operate and maintain a duty-free store of around 600sq m within the new integrated terminal two building at NSCBI airport. The tender covers the sale of liquor/alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, cosmetics, fragrances and personal care products, chocolates/candies /snacks in sealed aseptic packs, watches and jewellery, electronic products (hardware and software) and any items manufactured/produced in India, as may be permitted by rules and regulations notified by Authority/Central Board of Excise and Customs.
