Piglet Tries to ?Infiltrate? City Airport

Chennai: After dogs, pigeons, and monkeys, a pig is the latest contender from the animal kingdom that made an attempt to infiltrate the Chennai airport. On Friday morning, a group of CISF personnel patrolling the Porur end of the 1283 acre airport complex noticed some movement near a drain pipe leading out of the airport. When they got closer to take a look, they found that a black baby pig had somehow tunneled its way through the narrow pipe and almost into the airport complex.
Airport director Captain Deepak Shastri recounted how they?d swung into action to ensure the little intruder didn?t take any trips across the high-octane runways. ?We had the area cordoned off and our security men watched over it to ensure the pig didn?t come in. We called the Blue Cross of India, but they were a little busy and said they could come only in the afternoon and rescue the little fellow,? he said. After getting the necessary passes to enter the airport, the BCI team arrived at 1.30 pm and began the process of catching the piglet. Adventurous dogs have been known to duck the security cover and take the occasional stroll across the airport, but a member of the Suidae family making it in is a first, of dubious sorts. After several unsuccessful attempts to make the animal come out of the drainpipe, the CISF personnel along with Blue Cross volunteers resorted to using fireworks before they finally caught hold of it. 04/04/15 New Indian ExpressMen trying to catch the piglet using animal trapping net, at Chennai airport, on Friday | express
