Airport customs arrest a person with 12 million rupees worth gold biscuits

Colombo: The Customs arrested a Sri Lankan who attempted to smuggle 24 gold biscuits worth Rs. 12 million at the Katunayake airport early this morning.

The arrested person is a 40 year old resident of Akurana.


The suspect, who arrived on a Jet Airways flight from Mumbai, had concealed the gold biscuits in his luggage.

He was arrested following a tip-off received by the pilot due to his suspicious behaviour.
