Calcutta: It's raining discounts in aviation as airlines are cutting ticket prices to shore up demand during the monsoon period, which is considered a lean season.
The latest players to come out with low fare schemes are Jet Airways and AirAsia.
Jet Airways today offered passengers a 20 per cent discount on both business and economy class base fares for a limited period on its domestic network.
The promotional fare will be applicable on tickets booked between June 2 and June 6 for travel between June 25 and September 30, the airline said in a release.
Jet Airways' offer comes after other domestic carriers - Air India, IndiGo, SpiceJet and GoAir - announced similar schemes recently.
AirAsia today announced a 20 per cent discount on all flights purchased via its mobile app and mobile website.
This mobile-exclusive offer is available from June 3-5 for travel between June 6 and September 30.
