Kolkata: Authorities at Kolkata airport are introducing a slew of measures to make the facility more user-friendly. From help desks to assist passengers negotiate the terminal to mobile app that promises to provide all information on one's finger tips, travel through airport is set to become a more pleasant experience.
"We have deployed staff dedicated to resolve customer problems on the spot and guide first-time fliers and the elderly who may require assistance to negotiate the terminal and its facilities," said Kolkata airport director Atul Dixit.
Initially, one staff each will be deployed at the two 'May I Help You' desks at the domestic arrival and departure lounge. Later, men will be deployed in international departure section and security hold in addition to a supervisor in each shift.
"Though we have extensive signage, some passengers are reassured when they get a reply to a query. Some first-time fliers are shy. Our men will scan the body language of passengers for signs of uncertainty and approach them to offer assistance," said Dixit.
