Qatar Airways complains of 'unfair treatment'

Hyderabad: Qatar Airways chief executive officer Akbar Al Baker said today the airline is treated unfairly by the Indian  government on matter of bilateral seat allocation  and added that it remains interested in investing in IndiGo.

Qatar Airways  is also willing  to send its planes to India for maintenance and overhaul if MRO facilities are developed in the country,  Al Baker said today at Hyderabad.

AirAsia India appoints Amar Abrol as new CEO

New Delhi: Ending months of speculations, AirAsia India on Thursday said Amar Abrol will replace Mittu Chandilya as its CEO with effect from next month.
Chandilya would continue with the airline until the end of April to ensure a smooth transition of the CEO role.

AI constitutes panel to look into aircraft tyre burst incident

Air India's chief of flight safety has constituted a committee to investigate along with aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) the case of tyre burst in which an Air India flight with over 160 passengers had a narrow escape on Tuesday night.

Pilots diagnose old age of aircraft as cause behind AI tyre ailment

Mumbai: In a classic example of age catching up with the national carrier, pilots have blamed the 22-year-old Airbus 320 Classic for the snag that caused the burst tyre in the aircraft flying from Nagpur on Tuesday night, which led to an emergency evacuation of the aircraft and a subsequent disruption of airport functions.

The Air India aircraft that was involved in the incident was manufactured in 1994 and is one of the oldest in this class of planes, which its pilots have in official correspondence often referred to as snag-prone and problematic.

Emirates to expand in India once bilateral pact gets inked

Hyderabad: Dubai-based Emirates airline on Wednesday said it will be able to expand its network in India from the existing ten cities to more, once bilateral agreements on seating capacity are signed with the Indian government.
