Why Lufthansa and British Airways are professing love for India

They are the latest Indophiles. Only that they happen to be brands. In recent times, there have been two noteworthy cases of international airlines that have tried to appeal hard to the Indian psyche.
One of them, the German carrier Lufthansa, would like you to believe that the brand is ‘more Indian than you think’.
The other, British Airways, tries to lure the pardesi (Indian expat) back into his mother’s arms, never mind if this is a scene one is used to seeing in Hindi films. But when British Airways launched a big digital campaign, less than a year back, it was Maa ke haath ka khana (mum’s cooking) that was the biggest emotion it played upon.

Over 300 BA passengers stuck for hours in Ahmedabad

After hours of negotiations, the passengers were shifted to the nearby hotels till Thursday morning.

They said that the delay in reaching the destination caused frustration among the passengers. The airline officials refused to comment.

"I dont want any compensation my sarod is priceless"

Mumbai: Ustad Amjad Ali Khan's worst fears about his sarod being 'handled without care' by airline staff when he travels for concerts came true for the second time in four years on June 28 when the instrument went missing during a British Airways flight from London to Delhi.

Earlier, the sarod maestro's instrument had been damaged after it was poorly handled during an Ahmedabad-Mumbai Air India flight on January 14, 2010. Given that it was Khan's sarod that was damaged, the then Union civil aviation minister Praful Patel stepped in and tendered an apology.

In the latest incident, Khan told Mirror that he was touring London, Devon and Wiltshire from June 21 for solo and joint performances with sons Amaan and Ayaan Ali Khan. The Padma Vibhushan awardee was returning to Delhi on June 28 along with his wife Subhalaxmi. "The going was smooth and the performance at Dartington Hall at Devon to celebrate the life of Rabindranth Tagore went as planned," Khan said.
