Mumbai: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray's daughter
lost a laptop and camera as her check-in baggage went missing when she
flew to New York via London on British Airways in July.
The airline last Thursday sent an email to Dr Sanjay Borude, the senior-most member of the travelling group that included Raj's children, Urvashi and Amit, acknowledging the items were missing and suggesting they "claim directly from their travel insurance policy".
An airline representative told TOI that they would revert but never did.
Sharmila Thackeray told TOI her daughter Urvashi was going on a vacation with some others on July 25. "After a stopover in London, when they arrived in New York, they realized two bags were missing, one of which belonged to Urvashi. Her laptop, camera, battery backup and chargers, including one of a mobile phone, were in that bag," she said. Sharmila said the items were in a bag that she had given her daughter to keep all that she was intending to shop for in New York. "A few days later, when she received the bag, the items were missing," she said.
