Jaipur: Already a tourist hotspot, Rajasthan has got more reasons to cheer after the Central government gave nod to four low-budget airports, which will come up at Ajmer, Kota, Alwar and Bhilwara.
The decision will give further impetus to the travel and tourism sector in the state while also encouraging growth of emerging business hubs in these cities.
The Union government on Friday decided to set up 51 new low-cost airports with an aim to give a boost to the civil aviation sector and increase air connectivity to various destinations.
The state-owned airport operators along with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) will construct these airports in 51 cities in Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.
