Sydney Airport Secures Indian Dream

Sydney: Sydney Airport will welcome direct services from India, Sydney Airport's largest untapped market, next month with the announcement of Air India's new daily service to Sydney out of New Delhi.
The first flight will depart Delhi on Aug 29 and arrive in Sydney on Aug 30 before returning to Delhi via Melbourne, reports China's Xinhua news agency.
"Thanks to strong support from Premier Barry O'Farrell, Destination NSW and Tourism Australia, we're excited to have secured direct services from India," Sydney Airport Chief Executive Officer Kerrie Mather said.
The news follows federal government's guaranteed access to Sydney Airport for regional airlines and the passengers they carry for the next three years.
The government has updated rules that guarantee fair prices for regional airline access at Australia's busiest airport.
Sydney Airport cannot increase its charges for regional airlines above the consumer price index.
