New Delhi: Two of the country's largest private airlines, Jet AirwaysBSE -7.04 % and SpiceJet, were found to be flouting the DGCA's norms on safety and have been warned against repeating the offence.
Civil aviation minister Ajit Singh said in the Lok Sabha on Thursday that Jet Airways and Jet Konnect were required to get a DGCA approval before carrying out modifications and repairs which were beyond the structural repair manual issued by the regulator.
"During inspection carried by the DGCA, it was found that M/s Jet Airways (I) Ltd and M/s Jet Lite (I) Ltd did not comply with these requirements and continued performing such modifications and repairs," the Minister stated.
