In a bid to attract more patrons to the Ladakh International Film
Festival, which will take place in Leh between June 27 and June 29,
filmmakers like VishalBhardwaj, Mani Ratnam, RakeyshOmprakashMehra and
ShyamBenegal have written to the Union Minister for Civil Aviation,
AshokGajapathiRajuPusapati, requesting him to assist them with tickets
at discounted rates for those flying to the festival.
"Due to the hugely escalated prices of air tickets from Delhi to Leh, it has become extremely difficult for us to bring in prominent dignitaries and delegates whose presence at the festival helps to nurture the Ladakh film industry and the culture of the region," writes Benegal in a letter, addressed to the Minister.
