Global airlines, hotels get an Indian makeover

New Delhi: Donning an ‘Indian cap’, international aviation and hospitality players are going all out to lure Indian consumers.

German carrier Lufthansa wants you to believe that, “it’s more Indian than you think”, while international hotel companies such as Hilton, Starwood and Accor have tweaked the services their hotels offer to be in tune with the Indian consumer’s needs.

Though Lufthansa Airlines had introduced initiatives meant for the Indian consumers several years back, it felt that consumers were still not aware about them.

But, its latest India-specific ad campaign has attracted attention. The campaign talks about features such as Indian meals and desi entertainment on-board.

Most airlines such as Singapore Airlines too, apart from the usual practice of having Indian cabin crew on the India-Singapore route and announcements in Hindi and the local language of the State, have menus catered to the local traveller.
