Kochi: The Cochin international airport on Monday installed a high-end
robotic security system with Canadian-built robotic equipment procured
by spending Rs 12 crore.
CIAL managing director V.J. Kurian inaugurated the system and bomb detection and disposal squad at a function held on the CIAL MRO hangar premises.
Mr Kurian said that the robotic safety system was part of CIAL’s commitment to passenger safety.
The family of safety robots developed by Pedsco (Canada) Ltd and the threat containment vessel and sophisticated luggage containment vehicle (both developed by Nabco, USA) were handed over to CISF personnel manning airport security.
