Thirteen more airports to soon become CAT-III compliant

New Delhi:  Thirteen more airports in the country, including Amritsar, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Patna and Lucknow, will soon become CAT-III compliant, a step which will ensure seamless flight operations even during fog.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) along with Airports Authority of India (AAI) is carrying out the exercise which is expected to be completed by mid-February except for Jaipur Airport, a Civil Ministry official said today.

At present, only Delhi Airport is equipped with CAT-III technology.

The equipment installation work at the Jaipur airport will be completed by July 31, the official said.
