Mumbai: Air Costa is restructuring its network and adding frequencies on existing sectors to shore up its performance. Vijayawada-based airline has a regional operating permit and flies 34 flights daily with four Embraer jets ( 67-seater E-170s and 112-seater E-190s).
It began operations in October 2013 and made a loss of Rs 69.5 crore in first six months till March 14. In the first nine month of FY15 the airline made a net loss of Rs 90 crore on a revenue of Rs 250 crore.
The airline is tweaking its network, increasing its fleet utilisation and adding frequencies on existing routes. Also going forward the airline will only induct E-190 planes which offers better seat economics than the smaller E-170 planes.
The airline plans will add four E-190 planes in 2015 and plans to connect Bhubaneswar, Lucknow, Varanasi, Chandigarh, Indore, Pune from its hubs in South India. It is also said to be exploring services to Delhi.
