Aviation sector regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has served a fresh show-cause notice to Jindal Steel & Power (JSPL) asking reasons for not terminating its non-scheduled operators’ (NSO) permit. JSPL has been asked to submit its response within 15 days from the date of issuance of the notice.
Naveen Jindal-promoted JSPL operates two small jets – Global Express and Citation XLS – under NSO permit for charter flights.
DGCA has cited rejection of security clearance to the company by the home ministry for suspending its flying permit issued in 2008.
“In view of the alleged involvement of JSPL in the coal scam, the home ministry has rejected security clearance to company. After this was conveyed to us we issued a show-cause notice to JSPL for explaining reasons for not taking action against its NSOP,” a DGCA official said.
