Udaipur: Even as Indian Navy continued it`s search for the Dornier surveillance aircraft based at INS Hansa, Goa, that crashed into the sea during a routine training sortie around 30 miles southwest in Arabian sea off the coast of Karwar, Karnataka, friends and relatives made a beeline at the Chitrakoot Nagar residence in Udaipur of 25-year-old pilot Abhinav Nagori who`s missing in the crash.
Abhinav`s father, Dharamchand, retired education officer, took the first available flight to Mumbai and then headed for Goa after he got a late night call from the naval headquarters. State home minister Gulabchand Kataria also spoke to him to get details of the rescue operations while Udaipur collector Ashutosh AT Pednekar, who hails from Goa, ensured necessary steps to keep track of the search operation.
The flight was carrying three persons, including Abhinav. The other pilot, Nikhil Joshi, was rescued by fishermen while Abhinav and an observer Kiran are missing. Abhinav had come home for his short winter break and resumed duty on January 1, 2015.
