Mumbai: In a major twist, a Customs officer working at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) at Sahar has come under the scanner of the police department for his alleged involvement in the Mephedrone (M-Cat) racket case.
The police, during their probe, have learnt that police constable Dharmaraj Kalokhe had received some part of the consignment of 112 kilograms of M-Cat from a Customs officer at Sahar. Kalokhe was produced before a court on Wednesday and remanded in police custody till April 1.
"Kalokhe, during the course of custodial interrogation, claimed that a Customs officer from Sahar airport had given him the consignment of M-Cat. We are interrogating him further about the officer involved. Kalokhe has also said that his associate Shashikala alias Baby Patankar too gave him contraband in order to dispose them of," said a police officer, requesting anonymity.
