Heli-tourism Project to Explore the Beauty of Ananthapuri

Thiruvananthapuram: The scenic beauty of the capital of God’s Own Country can better be seen, enjoyed and remembered forever in a bird’s view.

Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) is giving wings to a heli-tourism project by joining hands with a Bangalore-based firm to launch its first-ever intra-district tourism programme for domestic as well as foreign tourists to take short-distance travel between the major tourism destinations in Thiruvananthapuram.
The launch is planned for March. “The heli-tourism is aimed at providing  economical trips for travellers. A six- seater helicopter will be on service.

“A sum of Rs 4000 will be charged per head for a two-way trip. After Thiruvananthapuram, the plan is to start the same at Bolgatty in Kochi,’’ said KTDC chairman Vijayan Thomas.

Major tourist attractions like Kovalam beach and Neyyar dam are among the five key locations where travel enthusiasts can reach via helicopter.
