Four to five firms interested in bidding for privatisation programme of Ahmedabad airport will take a tour of the airport today, sources said. Proposals and necessary documents will be sent to the Airports Authority of India for the bidding process after their visit, said highly placed sources.
However, the airport staff fears that once the private operator takes the charge of the airport, the rates of all services will be hiked.
Confirming the visit by the bidders, Airport Director R K Singh said, "The bidders will visit our office on Thursday.
We are expecting GMR, GVK, Tata, Adani and one more firm. We will be taking them on a tour of the airport. The representatives will be here from 11 am to 3 pm.
