International airport PAP rehab project gets green go-ahead

Navi Mumbai: The State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) has given the environment clearance on Wednesday for Vadghar project, which is being developed for rehabilitation of the airport project affected persons (PAPs).

Meanwhile, Cidco is also expected to get approvals for the Pushpak Nagar project in the next two weeks.

The clearance for Vadghar was delayed as a part of the 43 hectares being developed fell under CRZ-II zone and Cidco had to seek approval from Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA).

MCZMA sent the proposal to Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) for its approval. However, MoEF said that SEIAA was the competent project.
