Ahmedabad: In a bid to take its tally of operating points in the state of Gujarat, Jet Airways is mulling starting flight services from Surat now. The operator currently has seven operating points including Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, Bhuj, Porbandar, Diu and Bhavnagar in the state.
Looking to tap the summer travel season, Jet Airways launched its first direct international flight from Gujarat between Ahmedabad and Abu Dhabi. Effective from March 29, 2015, the service will be offered at an all inclusive introductory return fare of Rs 12500 which will be later hiked to Rs 16000.
Talking about the plans, Rajeev R Nambiar, vice president - Sales, India of Jet Airways said, "There always have been requests to start flights from Surat. We are evaluating options to start a domestic flight service from Surat. We will get back later when we finalise something."
