Hope take-off: Jet may resume Ahd flight

Bhopal: After a lull, there is good news for air travellers from Bhopal. Jet Airways is likely to resume its flight connecting state capital with Ahmedabad in next couple of weeks. The bad news is no new airline is willing to start operation from Bhopal at least this year.

State's initiative to rope in new airlines to make Bhopal a central hub by reducing VAT on aviation turbine fuel (ATF) failed to attract airlines. Last year, after scrapping up flight connectivity to Chennai and Hyderabad the last casualty was the Ahmedabad-Raipur flight services. Consequently, Bhopal airport was left with connectivity to only Mumbai and Delhi with nine daily flights. At present, only Air India and Jet Airways are operating from Bhopal airport.
