An Air India flight to Port Blair, via Bhubaneswar, was cancelled on Sunday morning leaving close to 60 passengers stranded inside the airport shuttle bus for at least an hour.
AI flight 9601 was scheduled to depart at 5.45 am from Delhi, but it was delayed due to “technical reasons”.
The passengers flying to Bhubaneswar were accommodated on different flights. Those flying to Port Blair were left waiting in the airport shuttle bus for at least an hour.
“My parents along with at least 60 others have been waiting for at least an air on the runway. Air India officials were mum when asked about their flight status,” said Sahil Seth whose parents were on the flight.
The airline carrier did not issue an explanation behind the delay until 9.00 am. The flight is now rescheduled for tomorrow morning.
