New Delhi: Vinod Hejmadi was today selected for the post of Director-Finance in Air India by Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB).
Hejmadi, who presently holds the post of general manager for finance at the national carrier's office in Mumbai, was selected after he along with two others were interviewed today by the government's head hunting body.
"His name would now be sent to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet for approval. PSEB had interviewed two other candidates for the post and found Hejmadi most suitable for the job," Air India sources said.
Hejmadi would take over the position from incumbent S Venkat, who retires in October this year.
Earlier, Air India chairman Rohit Nandan had requested the Civil aviation ministry for a one-year extension for Venkat. Incidentally, Nandan's term as Air India CMD, who is on a 10-month extension, expires in August this year.
