Things better managed at Lohegaon airport

Pune: People flying out of Pune or arriving at the Lohegaon airport seem to be better off than their counterparts at the railway station, as private taxis are able to pick up passengers from the airport premises without any hassle.

Following complaints by passengers that they were inconvenienced at the Pune railway station with private taxis barred from entering railway premises by aggressive autorickshaw drivers, TOI did a quick check at the Lohegaon airport, where things seem considerably better. Not only are cabs freely coming in to drop off passengers at the airport, pick ups are largely smooth, courtesy the traffic police and the airport authorities here.

Autorickshaw drivers at the railway station have ensured that private cab is not allowed entry inside. This in turn has led to people in cabs having to get off near Le Meridien hotel and take the foot overbridge to reach the station.
