Dehradun: Assuring quick disposal of Uttarakhand's pending demands
pertaining to the civil aviation sector before the Centre, Union
Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju today said Pantnagar airport will be
developed as a cargo airport and facilities at the Jollygrant airport in
Dehradun will be further upgraded.
Giving the assurance to Chief Minister Harish Rawat at a meeting here, the Civil Aviation Minister said all the proposals sent by the state government to the Centre regarding upgradation and expansion of airports in the state will soon be disposed of after taking all security aspects into consideration, an official release said.
Proposals sent by the state government to the Centre include night landing facilities for helicopters at helidromes, granting international airport status to the Jollygrant airport and launching flight operations from Chandigarh and Amritsar for Dehradun considering the large number of devotees visiting the state for the Chardham and Mansarovar yatras.
