Karipur: The much-awaited maintenance works began at the Calicut
International Airport on Wednesday. The runway of the airport will
remain closed from 3pm to 5pm during the next two months. Only minor
works will be carried out at present. Major repairs will start in
September after the monsoon recedes.
“The restrictions in the airport timings have come into effect from July 1 and the runway will remain closed from 3pm to 5pm during the next two months,” Airport Director Janardhanan said.
In view of the works, wide-bodied aircrafts have been banned in the airport since May.
