Number of trainers in domestic airlines less: Minister

Strength of trainers in the domestic airlines is less than the number of trainers recommended by the aviation regulator, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Mahesh Sharma informed the Lok Sabha today.

During the last three years and the current year, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has conducted 21 regulatory audits on scheduled airlines during which it was found that the strength of trainers was found to be less than the recommended strength in the DGCA operations circular as well as operators' training manual, Sharma said in a response to a question.


The audit also revealed that the certified operations manual of the airlines was also not updated, the Minister said.
