NEW DELHI: Some passengers of the flight from Leh to Delhi, in which
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju was accommodated, could not be informed of
flight preponement resulting in their delayed arrival at the airport,
the government said today.
The incident, involving an Air India flight, that happened on June 23, had created a huge political controversy.
The flight was apparently delayed by about an hour and three members of a family were offloaded from the plane to accommodate Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Rijiju, his aide and, Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh.
In a written reply to Rajya Sabha, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Mahesh Sharma said there has been only one incident of offloading occurred at Leh airport in the last one year.
