AAI takes fresh shot at privatisation of four airports

After failing in earlier attempts due to stiff resistance, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has issued fresh tenders to develop Ahmedabad, Chennai, Jaipur and Kolkata airports on public-private partnership (PPP) basis.
A request for qualification (RFQ) inviting private parties for the bidding process was issued recently. The last date for sale of tenders is August 31.


"The date for the tenders has been extended due to administrative reasons. Now, things stand clear on all fronts," said G S Bawa, an AAI spokesperson said.
