AAI plans infra boost at three airports

New Delhi: After it aborted its plan to upgrade four airports on public private partnership (PPP) basis, state-run Airports Authority of India (AAI) is making a fresh attempt to build city-side infrastructure at another set of airports - Lucknow, Raipur and Tirupati.


The country's largest airport operator has identified land at the three airports for facility upgrade works. The move is aimed at bolstering its non-aero revenue and raises the share from present level of about 34 per cent.

According to two senior officials, AAI has decided to undertake development work on its own instead of involving private partners for the three projects.
