Mumbai: Taking note of Air India’s poor OTP (on-time performance),
Ashwini Lohani, AI’s new chairman and managing director (CMD), has
written a letter to the airline’s cabin crew saying that henceforth the
airline will not tolerate any kind of indiscipline from them.
After taking charge as the national carrier’s CMD, Mr Lohani wrote a letter to the airline’s cabin crew to ensure a high OTP. In this letter, (a copy of which is with The Asian Age) Ms Lohani asked the crew to maintain 100 per cent OTP. Later, the CMD said the airline should at least start from 90 per cent OTP.
According to reports, the directorate general of civil aviation (DGCA) prepares an OTP report every month. According to DGCA, Air India stands at number four in the domestic sector after IndiGo, Jet-JetLite and GoAir. This report also shows that Air India’s performance in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Delhi is very poor.
