Chandigarh: All flights to and from the Chandigarh Airport will remain
suspended from October 16 to 18 due to repair of the runway by the
Indian Air Force. From October 19, the flight operations will shift to
the new terminal that was inaugurated last month by Prime Minister
Narendra Modi. Several airlines including Air India, Jet Airways,
Spicejet, Go Air, Air Asia and Indigo operate flights to different
destinations from the Chandigarh Airport. There are a total of 26
flights that operate from here.
An airport official said that from October 16, there will be no flights operational from the existing terminal building. He added that the Air Force would undertake repair work at the runway for three days. All the domestic flights would be shifted to the new terminal from October 19.
