17 flights delayed at Ahmedabad airport

Ahmedabad: Flyers continue to face trouble with foggy conditions in northern and eastern parts of India affecting air traffic. On Monday, as many as 17 flights -eight arrivals and nine departures -were delayed to and from Ahmedabad airport by between 45 minutes and 5 hours, following dense fog in Jaipur and bad weather at several airports in the country. Seven flights on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai route, three on the Ahmedabad-Delhi route, two each on the Ahmedabad-Jaipur and AhmedabadChennai routes and one flight each on Pune, Indore and Bhopal routes were delayed over the day, due to traffic congestion. More than 2,700 passengers were affected by the delays through the day.

The greatest impact of dela ys was seen on operations of In digo. 10 flights of the low-cost carrier were delayed from the city airport. Indigo's 6E-238 Jai pur-Ahmedabad and its subse quent Ahmedabad-Chennai leg were delayed by over 3 ho urs due to heavy fog in Jaipur This also led to the delay of Indi go's return flight from Chennai to Ahmedabad and the Ahmed abad-Jaipur leg, by 3.5 hours.
