Swagat Seva to make travelling of elderly and women easier

Bhubaneswar: Biju Patnaik International Airport authorities will make the lives of elderly people and women travelling alone easier when they check into the airport and board a flight.
The authorities of the airport have decided to introduce Swagat Seva to make the entire procedure from getting boarding passes and X-Ray of baggage to being seated in the flight smoother and hassle free.

According to airport sources, at least 14 airports in India in collaboration with private agencies already offer such services. With aviation traffic and passenger numbers increasing here, the airport authorities have finally decided to introduce the facility. The service is expected to de-congest the departure lounge and clear confusion.
"Not only will the service help elderly persons and women who are travelling alone, it will also help personnel of respective airlines by easing the process of luggage scanning. Attendants of the private party will be provided with passes for the terminal and ID cards to operate inside the departure lounge," said airport director Sharad Kumar.
