Chennai: Close on the heels of two terror attacks in Brussels, five Jet Airways flight, including one from New Delhi to Chennai, were grounded after Jet airlines received bomb threat on Tuesday.
Airport Authority of India, Chennai, director Deepak Shastri confirmed that five Jet airways flight have been grounded in different cities.
At least 26 people have been killed or seriously injured in terrorist attacks at Brussels international airport and a city metro station.
“The flight from Delhi to Chennai which was to land here at 5.50pm was diverted mid-air to Nagpur after a bomb threat was received,” said Shastri.
“The flight is undergoing checks at Nagpur Airport,” he said but refused to give any details when the aircraft was likely to return to Chennai.
“It is for the airlines to take a call,” he said.
