The Maharana Pratap Airport, Dabok was put to high alert and security beefed up after the ATC (Air Traffic Control) received an anonymous call of bomb threat on Thursday afternoon.
Flights' take offs and landings were delayed while the specialists searched for explosive devices.
The call was received by the ATC staff around 1.30 pm and the terror call sent the security personnel into a tizzy who immediately reported the matter to the airport authorities. Besides force from Dabok police station, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) and CISF security was activated. Landing and taking off were delayed and the premises was evacuated for security purpose.
Finally, after some hours of through screening, the information was found to be false and the authorities heaved a sigh of relief. "It was not a mock drill but a hoax call. Our team is investigating the matter, cyber experts have been called to trace the call," Udaipur SP Rajendra Prasad Goyal said.
