Snag-hit plane lands at airport

Ahmedabad: A Kuwait Airways flight with more than 100 passengers aboard made an emergency landing at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on Wednesday morning, reportedly due to technical issues in their GPS (global positioning system) and radar systems. The issue was resolved in one-and-a-half hours and the flight finally took off for Kuwait.

"My son Varun was flying to Istanbul via Kuwait by Kuwait Airways. He boarded the KU-346 flight at around 5.30am at Ahmedabad airport and left at around 6am. When the flight was midway, the pilot announced that there were some serious technical issues with the GPS system of the flight and the radar was also not responding," said city-based Ramesh Shukla. The passenger, Varun Shukla, was on a business trip to Istanbul.
He further said, "According to the pilot's announcement, the flight was over Karachi airspace when he decided to take it back to Ahmedabad airport. The flight landed in Ahmedabad at around 8.30am and the passengers remained seated in the aircraft till the fault was repaired."
