Air India felicitates its flight purser for bravery

The national carrier Air India, felicitated Neil Pais, manager-inflight services at Air India, by presenting him with a certificate after he successfully revived a 5-year old boy who stopped breathing while playing in a pool in Goa last week.

The certificate was presented by Mukesh Bhatia, executive director, western region in the presence of other Air India officials. Air India commended his efforts and lauded his act as a superior representation of the fine culture and extensive training provided to its employees.
The incident occurred last week, when the survivor, Arpan Thakur, stopped breathing while playing in a pool in Goa. With no help and 30 minutes to go before the ambulance could arrive, Neil Pais, a Bandra-based Air India purser brought the child back to life by performing a cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR). The CPR failed to revive the child in the first two attempts but it was only in the third attempt that the child came back to life.
