New Delhi: Promising a better security at the cargo terminals of the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), Union minister of state for home Kiren Rijiju said that a better coordination is required between the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
During a felicitation ceremony organised by DIAL to celebrate the success of Indian aviation, Rijiju said that he had heard about certain loopholes in the terminal's security and assured that they would be overcome very soon. The Delhi airport was declared world's No 1 for second consecutive year.
TOI was the first to report last month that the cargo terminal at IGI airport was vulnerable to terror attacks. At a recent security committee meeting, CISF and Delhi Police have suggested immediate installation of scanners for vehicles entering the terminal and more CCTV cameras.
