‘Investing in Airports’ conference to consider PPP option

Airports Council International (ACI), with the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), will host the second annual Investing in Airports conference at the Planet Hollywood Beach Resort in Goa, India from 06–08 December.
The event will focus on ways to attract investment for the sustainable development of airports, fostering discussion among airports, airlines, regulators and investors and exploring the evolution of competition in the sector.
In this context, the role and functions of States and regulatory authorities will be addressed to provide a better understanding of the scope, forms and key objectives of economic oversight and regulation, and how public-private partnerships (PPP) can enhance economic development.

Panel discussions include: Policy frameworks for sustained capital investments; the investment horizon; the state of the airport industry; the current process of privatisation in India; the South East Asian capacity crunch; the coexistence of public interest, bankability and a focus on the user; investing in airports; market power and competition; regulatory divergence or convergence; customer-focused approaches to the oversight function and new trends in airport regulatory frameworks.
