New Delhi: Air India is going aggressive. It has just announced its special domestic “Super Fares” for “last-minute air travelers”.
The national carrier now claims it will offer last minute tickets at Rajdhani AC II tier fares on select routes from the Capital. So if you are waitlisted on a Rajdhani to Kolkata or Patna and fail to make the cut, you can book a flight to the destination on the same day at the same fare.
Open from June 27 to September 30 this year for Economy Class on select flights on Air India’s domestic network, the tickets are only for one-way fares.
The “super fare” tickets, however, can be booked only within the last four hours of departure of a flight from the Air India booking offices in the city or at the airport, or through the AirIndia.in website.
Travellers will need to use code “SPOT” in the Promo Code Box.
Flyers will get frequent flier miles and will also be applicable for upgrades. However, the seats will be limited and subject to availability.
The Air India site says on some routes there might be even lower fares available.
We also checked out the rates on the Delhi-Kolkata route for July 11 and found that the cheapest fare was a very affordable Rs 2,993 all inclusive.
