There is good news for air travelers, as five new non-stop flights for four destinations would start from the city next month. Indigo is going to start flights for Bengaluru, Raipur, Hyderabad and New Delhi. With this, there will be eight flights for the national capital and two each for three other cities.
To target Tire-II cities, Indigo has rolled out a new schedule to start five flights from the city. The airliner has already got clearances from the Airport Authority of India (AAI) and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
According to an official information, Indigo would start direct flights for Bengaluru and Raipur from November 24, while non-stop flights for Hyderabad and New Delhi would start from November 28.
Interestingly, Indigo has flights for all the four destinations.
At present, the airliner has indirect flights for Bengaluru and Hyderabad via Nagpur. None other airlines has flights for these destinations.
At present for New Delhi sector, there are seven flights— three each of Indigo and Jet Airways and one from Air India. With the addition of one more Indigo flight, there will be nine flights for New Delhi.
When contacted, the public relation officer of Indigo said: “We are planning to roll-out flights on the above sectors. Indigo is the largest airline in the country with a share of 39.8% till July 2016. It operates 818 daily flights to 41 destinations and is the second largest low-cost carrier in Asia.
