Air Carnival likely to start Hubballi-Bengaluru daily flights soon

Hubballi: If everything goes according to plan, Air Carnival, a domestic air carrier, will start operations from Hubballi airport in the next couple of weeks.
Now, Air India is operating a flight to Bengaluru from Hubballi four days a week, and there is no daily flight to the capital city after Air Pegasus suspended its daily service two months ago. Hubballi is the only commercial hub in North Karnataka with many business activities like electronics, clothes, manufacturing and other businesses. The availability of air service would play a vital role in improving the economy of the city and bring more investors to Hubballi, say industrialists. But this city is always jinxed in the matter of air connectivity.

The sudden halt of the daily Air Pegasus flight has left many people looking for other modes of transport. Many had begun to depend on the daily flight for their business trips to Bengaluru. Earlier, SpiceJet was operating flights from Hubballi to Bengaluru and Delhi via Mumbai, but had to suspend operations after one of its planes skidded off the runway while landing at Hubballi airport in March last year.
