Five airports in south India recorded the arrival of 19% international
travellers, who availed e-tourist visas to visit the country in December
last year.
While the international airport at Chennai topped the list among the southern states, New Delhi received the highest number of e-tourist visa travellers in the country.
An official press release said, about 1.62 lakh foreign tourists arrived in December 2016 on e-tourist visa. While the airport in New Delhi had registered the arrival of 36.6 % tourists using the facility, Chennai secured the fourth place with 6% of inbound visitors on e-tourist visas.
